The exhibition space will host from today until February 14th this "Objectual Poetics Work", which can be visited from Monday to Friday from 9 to 14 hours. The exhibition comprises 20 works framed within Surrealism.
The artist from Alcoy described the exhibition as "an ironic reflection with a pinch of humor about our reality, wishes and desires, as well as our failures and social fracture".

The Department of Culture of the Town of Benidorm has organised for Friday 18th and 25th January the screening of several short films by new directors, two cultural events where the authors of the shorts may share with the public the creative process.
On January 18th, at 20 hours, it will be screened the shorts 'Theatron', the 'La doncella dormida', 'La cruz' and 'Alexis'. Subsequently, there will be a discussion with Alberto Evangelio and producers Rafa Navarro and Javier Abinzano, moderated by journalist Jorge Fauró.
On Friday, January 25th, also in the Hall of the Consistory at 20 hours, the shorts screened will be 'Los ojos del ángel' and 'Efímero' by Ivan Montero and 'Turno de noche' by Victor Palacios, 'La madre' by Alberto Evangelio and 'Leo creciente' by Ruben Mateo-Romero. Later there will be discussion with the directors of the shorts and the assistant director Beatriz Hernandez.
These new directors already stand out inside and outside Spain, as some of these films have been screened and even awarded in international competitions in countries like Mexico and Finland. Also, from the local producer 'Beniwood', founded in 2005, works to produce audiovisual works produced by local filmmakers.
Both Alberto Evangelio and Rafael Navarro have ensured that it has been so successful some of their short films that they are already working up to five relevant projects, like filming the new video for the singer Soraya, who was shot in Benidorm, the creation of a animation short film in 3-D, and the performance of two feature films: 'Límite 15-M' and an adaptation of the short film 'Alexis'.
From 'Beniwood' is working, Abinzano indicated, to support "young producers" and, especially, to allow "Benidorm is known for more than just the sun and the beach, which is a great town to do this kind of Projects". Is also underway a hard work from local production company to develop new productions focused on information technology, such as the Internet or the video game world.

The group of photographers 'Llum' exhibits its work at the Espai d'Art of the Town Hall
'Journey through the dreams of Levante' is the title of the latest exhibition the Department of Culture has organised in the Espai d'Art of the Town Hall, and opens to the public until next Friday, February 1st.
The group of photographers 'Llum' has been commissioned to collect its best work for this initiative, which focuses on images, specifically in the sunrises and sunsets from our Levante Region.
Altogether twelve artists have collected with their cameras the marine, wild nature, or popular festivals portrayed in flashy fireworks. The exhibition will be open in the morning, from 9 to 14 hours.

Miguel Llopis from Benidorm presents his book "The Iberian priestess"
"The Iberian priestess" is the title of the book that Miguel Llopis, its author, will present on Friday February 8th, at the Town Hall Auditorium of Benidorm, with the collaboration of the Department of Culture.
The author of "The Iberian priestess" explained that the presentation of the book does not focus exclusively on the novel, but he has also prepared a talk with a slide show on the Iberian culture in general, comparing current images of people of the world that continue living at that time.
The presentation ceremony will be on Friday at 20 hours in the Town Hall Auditorium.
II Open BTT 'Ciudad de Benidorm'
On Saturday February 9th, between 14.00 and 18.00 hours celebrates a new edition of the second Open BTT 'Ciudad de Benidorm' organised by the 'Sol Cycling Club' of Benidorm, sponsored by the Department of Sports of Benidorm.
This morning has been presented this test starting and finishing at the Sports Centre Guillermo Amor, with a distance of 7,800 meters. This test is scoring for the Regional MTB Cross Country Championship and for the Mountain Bike Rankings for the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation 2013. There will be schools races, juvenile, kids, cadets, master-30, master-40, females, elite, under-23, senior and junior.
After departing from the Foietes Sports Centre it will run through the Xixo Canyon and Murtal Canyon, which will feature several laps according to the category, with a minimum of two or three laps, cadets and females and the most elite, will be six laps to complete about 40 kilometers.

VI Taekwondo ITF Cup 'Town of Benidorm'
Next saturday February 16th, the Sports Centre 'L'Illa de Benidorm' hosts the VI Taekwondo ITF Cup 'Town of Benidorm', organised by the Club Tae Benidorm, sponsored by the Department of Sports of Benidorm and with the collaboration of the Valencia Region´s Taekwondo ITF Association.
This morning has been presented this event with the presence of the president of Club Tae Benidorm Paco Ferrando and the president of the Valencia Region´s Taekwondo Association Jose Luis Diego.
Regarding the planned programme will be held from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon, in the four areas of competition that will be mounted, three tatami mats and a jumping area, with the presence of 30 official referees.
Finally the event coordinator José Luis Diego said that "we are making a great effort from the club for the kids are well prepared for this event, given that the kids have to combine training with studies. This championship is for the kids to improve in the competition and improve our school too".

Duathlon of Benidorm
Terra Natura facilities, nature & animal park of Benidorm will host on Sunday March 3rd a sporting event open to people of all ages and provenances.
It´s the Duathlon of Benidorm, organised by the company White and Terra Natura, in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Town Hall of Benidorm. In Benidorm will host the second phase of a duathlon which started in Alicante and will end on March 10th in the town of Murcia region; Jumilla.
The test, which until now has 200 registered athletes, have two different outputs, one at 9 and again at 11 am. The 'Sprint', departing at 9h, will consist of a portion of 5K run, followed by another 20.4K bike, ending with another 2.5K walk.
The 'Supersprint', departing at 11h, will consist of 2.5K on foot, 10.2K on bike and the last kilometer of the race. In both outputs, the foot race will elapse in Terra Natura while the bike path will be run by the vials attachments to the animal park.
The duathlon Benidorm is endorsed and refereed by Valencia Triathlon Federation and under the general regulations of the competition of the Spanish Triathlon Federation.

Benidorm celebrates traditional festival of l'Albà
One of the most popular events of the festive calendar of Benidorm, l'Alba, will take place on Saturday 16 March, and for the celebration the major festivals Commission has prepared a full program of activities. The president of the Commission, Vicenta Asensio, explained that "as this year fell on Saturday we have prepared all acts for the same day".
According ahead Asensio on Saturday at 5:30 h. at St. James's Square will start the transfer of the Virgin of Suffrage to the beaches of the town, in the traditional time of l'Alba. Then it will be offered a chocolate and at 10 hours in the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana, there will be a Mass in honor of the patron.
In the afternoon, at 18:00 h. will take place the floral offering in honor of the Virgin of Suffrage, with concentration of authorities, queens, ladies, associations, committees and festive entities at Paseo Colón.
On Sunday, at 20 h. the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana will host the concert of Plucked, by Recreational & Cultural Association 'The Barqueta'.

Nabucco Opera in the Benidorm Palace
The Benidorm Palace hosts the next Monday, March 18th at 20h, Verdi's opera "Nabucco", by the company 'Opera 2001'.
The artistic director of the opera, Luis Miguel Lainz, explained at a press conference that the company 'Opera 2001' has 120 actors and said it is the last show in Spain, after staging more than 30 cities.
Lainz declared that the representation coincides with the celebration of the Verdi´s year, and described it as one of the most popular operas of the author, "especially the chorus fragment 'Va, pensiero ...', which interprets a choir of 45 people" said the artistic director.
Nabucco is an opera with great force and intrigue, amorous jealousy mixing with political conflict. According to Lainz, 'Opera 2001' will perform a new original production with simultaneous subtitled translation, and emphasized its scenery and costumes, "being the first opera by Verdi that was successful".

Benidorm joins the campaign 'Earth Hour 2013'
Benidorm´s Town Hall, through the Department of Beaches and Environment, has also joined this year's campaign by WWF 'Earth Hour', to be held on 23rd March worldwide.
That day, and from 20.30 to 21.30 hours the lights will be turned off on monuments, streets, businesses and homes in thousands of cities, to become aware of the problem and know the importance of participating in the defense of the environment.
Benidorm´s Town Hall lights will go off in the garlands of Levante beach, in the architectural wall lighting of Paseo de Poniente, and in the Memorial "The Cross" located in the Natural Park of Serra Gelada, all landmarks of town.
In 2012, more than 7,000 cities and 152 countries, the lights of the main monuments and landmarks went out, thus sending a clear message, as symbolic gestures can lead to large changes if you get a global commitment throughout the year. 'Earth Hour' is proposed as the largest call for action against climate change and get millions of people on six continents turn off the light at the same time for an hour.

'Visions of Terra Santa' is the exhibition that from today until April 16th will host the Town hall at the Espai d'Art. A photo exhibition very consistent with the dates and Easter holiday because travels places of worship in Palestine during the nineteenth century.
The exhibition is based on the album 'Terre Sainte', conducted between 1870 and 1880 by Boulos Meo, the main tourist shop in Jerusalem. Boulos Meo opened in 1872 his own shop 'Persian Carpet' at the Jaffa Gate, and transformed his emporium dedicated to sell antiques and souvenirs, and introduced into the world of photography, getting photographers collections of the time as Felix Bonfils, who obtained a collection of photographs of places of worship in the city.
The exhibition, organised by the 'Centre for Contemporary Culture 'October'', complete with works of other contemporary photographers among them the brothers Zangaki, of Greek origin, or the entrepreneur and photographer from Alcoy Frances Botella as explained the curator of the exhibition , Emili Payá.

Benidorm hosts 'TecnoRevolución', an interactive exhibition that explores new technologies and their application
Benidorm today inaugurated the exhibition 'ExpoCaixa TecnoRevolución', an exhibition that will tour the Spanish territory in order to publicize the progress of converging technologies whose application has brought unthinkable progress.
Monday to Friday from 9.30 to 13.30 h. and from 16 to 21 h. and on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays from 11 to 14 h. and from 17 to 21 h, those who come to see the exhibition can enjoy an interactive exhibition that seeks to knowing converging technologies: nanotechnology, biotechnology, information and communications technologies (ICT), and cognitive science (NBIC).
Move a ball with the power of the mind, using a computer to guess how a virus spreads and a pandemic occurs, see a mini-robot takes a drug to a specific point of the body, these are just some of the applications converging technologies that will see visitors in 'TecnoRevolución', an exhibition organised by the Obra Social La Caixa in collaboration with the town hall of Benidorm.
Admission is free, and school students can do visits by phone 902 906 666. In addition, guided tours are offered from Monday to Friday at 19 h. and Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, at 12:30 and 19 h.
'Electro Weekend 2013' in Benidorm
The 'Electro Weekend' is an event to be held in Benidorm on 29th and 30th March coinciding with the Holy Week, where electronic music will be featured.
Manssion Disco will feature the sounds Techno and Tech-House, Penelope Disco will host from Dubstep to the more energy House, KM will be the space for the Levantine´s sound with Revival and Privee, and finally, Privilege X will become in the area of Latin rhythms.

Malú Performs at the Benidorm Palace
The next March 31st at 21.30 h. Benidorm Palace will host the concert of Malú, the undisputed voice of the Spanish Pop.
Born into a family of great artists, she grew up surrounded by talent, art and music. Paco de Lucia's niece and daughter of Pepe de Lucía, began his career with only 15 years old. She had as godfather Alejandro Sanz who composed for her "Aprendiz" theme that quickly became a huge success.
Since then, Malú has developed one of the most solid and respected careers of music in Spain with more than two million copies sold, ten albums published, 19 platinum albums and numerous awards including the Latin Grammy nomination for 2011 in the category of "Best Female Pop Vocal Album."

The Department of Culture organises at the Espai d'Art Mercat in Benidorm a new art exhibition. This time it is 'corporeal matter', by the artist Miguel Espinosa. A wide range of paintings depicting the human body, both male and female, the result of hard work by Espinosa in recent months, after several years without exposing. Espinosa's work will be open from today Thursday, April 4th, until the 30th of this month, in morning, from 9-14h, from Monday through Friday.

2nd Open of Paddle 'Penya La Creïlla'
The next few days from 6th to 14th April, the Sport Club La Marina, will host the second annual Open of Paddle 'Penya La Creïlla', which has been presented this morning in the press room of the Town Hall of Benidorm.
The Open comprises categories of second, third and fourth for male, fifth mixed, female and female initiation. The registration fee is 20 euros and should be formalised by calling 622 710 477 (Alfonso). The awards for the second category are 150 euros (first) and 80 euros (second), for the third category are 100 and 60 euros respectively.
For the fourth a batch of Iberian products and a dinner for two people, for the fifth mixed a dinner for two and a Fisionatura treatment for the winner and a dinner for two for the finalist team, for female category paddle material and treatment and paddle material, respectively, and finally in the female initiation category 50€ and a meal for two people.

On Sunday 7th at 9.30 am, will start the II historic route of Benidorm: "Les Caletes Route".
The meeting point will be at 9.15h. in the Department of Tourism (Torrechó Square). At 9.30h. start our route along the seafront of the Playa de Levante, where there will be explained its evolution tourist/urban. About 10 hours we will arrive at Rincón de L'Oix, where it has been organised the second meeting point (for those who want to make a shorter path), at the height of the statue of Juan de Avalos.
Then we will march towards the "Tio Ximo" cove area where there will be explained the historical significance of the coves and landforms. At the entrance of the Natural Park of "Serra Gelada" we will receive by the technical stuff details on relevant aspects of its flora and fauna, as well as its extraordinary environmental conditions.
In the Tower "Punta del Cavall" declared BIC (a Cultural common good, maximum protection figure reserved for historic buildings), we will documente the importance of defense towers for coastal protection (their systems communication, provision of troops, artillery, etc.., and its relevance to the defense of Benidorm).
From there, we will make the trip back to the exit of the park, where we will completed the historic route.
The approximate length of the route will be 3 hours and 30 minutes, starting from the Department of Tourism, and from the second meeting point, sculpture by Juan de Avalos at the Rincón de L'Oix, about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
For those who wish, there will be a prolonged visit to the ocher mines and Cala "Tio Ximo" where it will be explained the operation and extraction system used at the moment.

April´s Fair 2013 in Benidorm
From 17th to 21st April Benidorm will held its particular April´s Fair with many events taking place at various restaurants in the town.
One more year, the establishments Restuarante Condal, Galera Café Sport, Rias Baixas, Sabores del Sur Isla Cristina, Cervecería Bar Angelillo and Taberna Andaluza have prepared a series of activities consisting of typical Andalucía Gastronomy and flamenco performances starting on April 17th with the Lighting day and ending on 21st April with the closing of the Fair.

Bicycle Day in Benidorm
The Town Hall of Benidorm through the Department of Sports organises next Sunday 21st April the thirty edition of the "Bicycle Day for All", a cyclist running the organization hopes to gather more than 1200 people in this new edition.
The Bicycle Day has become one of the most traditional sport events in Benidorm, all participants take the streets and avenues of the town for practise sports, while holding a fun day. This is ultimately to promote healthy lifestyles, claiming the bicycle as alternative transportation and state that Benidorm can and should be a livable town, happy, fun and caring.
The concentration and output will be in the Plaza SS. MM. Los Reyes de España about 10.30 hours, with a route that includes Avenida Mediterraneo, Calle Bilbao, Avda Severo Ochoa, Avenida Albir to reach the area of Ermita de Sanz, where it will be served a refreshment (courtesy of Coca-Cola) and back run along the same route in the first leg.
After the cyclist march, it will be held the traditional prize draw for all participants who have the ticket delivered to the output of the test. 15 Bicycles will be drawn together with different gifts, consisting of balls for different sports such as basketball, handball, futsal and beach volleyball.
In this edition collaborate Cycling Club Sol Benidorm, Benidorm Cycling Union, Coca-Cola and Sport Zone (which donates 3 bikes for the final draw for gifts).

2nd Race Up to the Cross 'Ciudad de Benidorm'
On Sunday May 5th will be the second edition of the Race Up to the Cross "Town of Benidorm", organised by the Grupo Brotons in collaboration with the Department of Sports of Benidorm.
This athletic race has a distance of 9400 meters with start and finish in the Plaza SSMM Los Reyes de España, next to the Town Hall, is Ecuador at the Cross of the Serra Gelada, located in the Natural Park of the same name.
New in this second edition, there are two modalities, the usual runners at this year features a new, that of walkers who made the same journey, albeit with different departure times, the walkers will leave at 9 hours and runners at 9.30 h.
Registration will continue until next Sunday, half an hour of the start time and the price of it (early) is 10 euros for runners with chip and 12 for runners who do not have it and 8 euros for walkers. On the day of the test is 15 euros runners and 10 walkers.
There will be trophies and gifts for absolute champions (male and female) for the top 5 of each category and to the top 5 local (male and female), and a trophy and a shoulder of ham for the club with the highest number of participants in goal, addition to the usual runner bag with a technical shirt and different gifts, as well as the usual refreshment during and after the test.
Also for the second consecutive year the children's races will be held at Parque de l'LAiguera in different categories and in this case the price is one euro per participant in accident insurance concept. Also for the kids there will be prizes for the winners and runner's bag.

From 17th to 30th of this month will be on display in the Art Space Mercat a sample of the artist Rocio Coloma, student of Fine Arts of the UPV.
Coloma´s exhibition opens a series of exhibitions that develop students of the faculties of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the University Miguel Hernández their ending studies art projects .
The exhibition, which will remain in our town until May 30th, consists of various works of sculpture and painting that focus on the human face. The facial expression reflecting approaching reality of each of us.
The fundamental issue is the portrait of people linked to the artist, and has also included a mirror in the room where it portrays, albeit ephemeral, the image of those who participate in this exhibition and visitors.
From its arts curriculum can emphasize studies Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the development of the artistic project that is now exposed in the Espai d'Art Mercat and has been carried down the direction of the Department of Sculpture Faculty of Fine Arts.
She has been part of the group exhibition "Es-culture" in the student's home in UPV in Valencia, and has made several solo exhibitions:

Antonio Orozco returns to Benidorm Palace to offer a new concert, within his latest tour 'Gira Único'.
After the success of his previous visit, this singer from Seville with hits like 'Devuélveme la vida' and six studio albums, notable for his meteoric career with over 600,000 copies sold, toured Spain and Latin America with great success, 10 platinum discs and dozens of number 1 in Spain, USA and Latin America.

In order to create a positive vision emerges 'Dermatografías' exhibition by Belén Díaz, 5th year student of Fine Arts in Altea.
Through the use of macrophotographies the artist constructs a vision focused on the details of the various bodies showing the scars and traces of bodily experiences, memories and overcoming.
The exhibition was inaugurated this morning at the Espai d 'Art Mercat, and will be open until June 14th, Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 14.00h. and Wednesday evening from 17.00 hours to 19.30h.

Final Round of Veterans Football League in Benidorm
The sports center 'Guillermo Amor' of Benidorm hosts this Saturday June 15 the final round of the Veterans Football league.
In this final round have qualified Athletic de Bilbao, as a champion of the North, the Cádiz CF as champion of the South, the Valencia C. F. as the champion of the East, and join them as a host team the Benidorm CD Veterans Association.
From 18:30h. will start the semi-finals with times of 45 minutes in the natural grass field at Municipal Stadium and the synthetic grass field next to it.
Then at 19:30h. the Final will be played and the matches for third and fourth place in the same scenarios.

The singer Miguel Poveda will perform at the Benidorm Palace on Sunday June 16th at 21:30h.
This artist, born in Barcelona (February 13th, 1973), started singing at age of 15 in the Catalan flamenco clubs.
In 1993 he began his professional career, winning four awards: Mining Lamp (the world's most precious flamenco award) and three awards in the categories of 'the soleá', 'the Cartagenera' and 'the Malagueña' in the National Festival del Cante de las Minas La Unión (Murcia).
Flamenco singer and interpreter of other genres with which enriches his career, characterized by constant experimentation of his work.
Now lands in Benidorm on the stage to show all his virtues.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday April 17th and the price will range from 25 to 30 €.

Costa Blanca Business Run and 1st Popular Race Town of Benidorm
On Saturday June 22, the popular racing sports calendar is increased with two new tests, the first race of enterprises in the province of Alicante called 'Costa Blanca Business Run' and the 1st Popular Race Town of Benidorm organised with the Grupo Brotons and open to the public.
This time the race of companies 'Costa Blanca Business Run' is played by teams with a maximum of four athletes, both the men, women or mixed representing a company or government agency. Inscriptions with a cost of 10€ per runner, which includes an amazing runner bag, are open on www.grupobrotons.com web. According to the organization is expected to attend a number of runners of all parts of the province, given the characteristics of the race, even from other provinces as Albacete, Murcia and Valencia.
The race is held together will start at 19:30h. from the Plaza SSMM. Los Reyes de España and will pass through the Aigüera park and Levante promenade with a length of five kilometers.
Both classification as prizes are distributed independently. Runners may view the test result while after their entry into finish line thanks to new technologies with a QR code.

I International Underwater Marathon 'Town of Benidorm'
Next Saturday June 29th, Bebidorm will host the 1st International Underwater Marathon 'Town of Benidorm'.
The underwater Marathon is conducting a tour designed for all ages, with a total length of 1.4 km under water by the Mal Pas beach in Benidorm. The type of diving to practise will be strictly sports and recreational.
Not only is it a competition, is a feast for all divers. Competitors participate in pairs linked by a resilient bonding out of 3m long, marked on the surface with a buoy attached to the center of it by a rope with a maximum depth of 5m. The course will be marked out in the background in its entirety by Filières, spears and banners with bright colors for easy tracking, reaching a height 5meters máximade so dive profiles will be maximum security.
On the surface, must be indicated by yellow buoys from those used in racing and guarded at all times by officials of the organization. The output will be performed by all competitors starting simultaneously from the sand of the beach and had to spend under an inflatable structure will also serve as a goal at the end of the tour.
The circuit consist of an L-shaped rod 700 m with a tack to the buoy return. Compliance with the rules of the competition is guaranteed for 6 judges from kayak type support vessels. Only disqualified for not completing the course.

3rd Tourist´s International Tournament in Benidorm
Chess Club 'l'Illa de Benidorm' organises for the third year in a row this chess event to be held on June 30th.
The tournament will take place in the Town Hall of Benidorm (Aïgüera´s Park) in the morning from 10h, and in the afternoon from 16h.
The game system will be 8 rounds of 12 minutes + 3s increment (4 morning and 4 evening).
The inscriptions are 20 € generally, under 18 and under 16 are 10€ , under 14, under 10 and under 8 are 5€ and club members 15€.
The tournament is endowed with 800€ in trophies and prizes for all categories.

Richard Clayderman concert at the Benidorm Palace
The Benidorm Palace has announced the concert of Richard Clayderman on September 15th.
The famous pianist who achieved international success in the 80 published a few months ago an album after more than a decade of silence.
In the new album 'Romantique', Clayderman makes versions of songs like 'Someone like you' or films and musicals as 'Schindler's List', 'Los Miserables' and 'West Side Story'.
The famous pianist has sold 70 million albums worldwide and achieved 267 gold records and 70 platinum.
Places are limited and prices range between 40 and 45€.
