Banks:
Most banks are open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 2.00pm. Only a few branches are open on Saturday morning. There are 24-hour ATM cash dispensers throughout the town, most of which accept international bank cards.
Credit cards:
Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept major credit cards such as American Express, VISA, Mastercard, 4B, Access and Diners Club.

Standard voltage is 220-240V AC, 50 Hz.
Electrical appliances from the US require a transformer and an adaptor. From the UK adaptor only
Plugs are two-pin and adaptors are available at any hardware store.
Currency
Official currency is the euro.
Notes come in denominations of 5,10,20,50,100, 200, 500. It is recommended however that you avoid larger denominations of 200 and 500€ as not all businesses may accept due to possibly not having change available.
Coins denominations of 1,2,5,10,20,50 cents, 1 € and 2 € coins.

SATE (Servive for Foreign Tourist Assistance Office)
The Foreign Tourist Assistance Services (SATE) is a police department whose role is to offer foreign tourists, visiting the city, personalized assistance after having suffered a criminal offence or any other similar incident. Assistance is given by National Police Service and personnel from the Tourist Board. The tourist is given assistance reporting the crime and other miscellaneous administrative formalities.
