Half Marathon

3rd March 2018 is the date chosen for this Benidorm International Half Marathon and 10K, where runners from all over Spain and Europe will compete in a festive, healthy and family atmosphere. A sports proposal devised and executed by Grupo Bakara and Tour Sport for the runners to enjoy with an exclusive nature and authentic feeling.

The Benidorm Athletics Club and Benidorm Town Hall will become an indispensable part of the sports and logistical development of the tests.The run will be held on Saturday 3rd March, at sunset, and many parallel activities, such as tourist, sports and commercial activities, will take place from Friday to Saturday after the competition.The test is approved by the Spanish Athletics Federation. Its route is totally flat and mostly goes through the city’s main streets and Levante and Poniente beaches, enabling runners to improve their score, since it is a very fast and pleasant circuit.

There will be trophies for the first three places in the half marathon and in the 10 K, in the different categories from veterans to senior, both for males and females. Prizes donated by different sponsors will also be given. All the runners reaching the finish line will receive the traditional runner’s bag, as well as a technical shirt. New this year will be the commemorative medal given to all those who finish the half marathon.

The new managers of the competition, Grupo Bakara and Tour Sport are seeking to reactivate the two sports tests through a significant national and international communication campaign, invitations to national clubs, elite runners, celebrities, sports tourism initiatives, catering conferences, fair with sports brands, high prizes, VIP zone and family lounge, stands, displays, competitions…

Ultimately, the aim is to raise the status of the Benidorm Half Marathon to that of large national athletics events, for which the promoters are working on a specific marketing and communication plan so that the event is a total success.

The starting and finish line will be located at the Benidorm Town Hall esplanade.
