Benidorm continues to improve its public facilities with the installation of new chilled drinking water fountains in different areas of the city. The existing fountain on Avenida Armada Española, in the Poniente area, has now been joined by a new one in Séquia Mare Park.
Additional fountains are also planned for Levante Promenade and the parks of Foietes and l’Aigüera, popular areas for walking, outdoor activities and sport.
These fountains allow people to refill their bottles with cold water from the municipal drinking water network, offering a convenient and healthy option, especially on hot days. The fountains include a cooling system, a direct connection to the drinking water supply and an accessible design for people with reduced mobility.
The initiative aims to make tap water more easily available in busy public spaces while encouraging more sustainable habits. Using these fountains helps reduce the consumption of single-use plastic water bottles and minimises environmental impact.
With this expansion, Benidorm strengthens its commitment to being a more comfortable, healthy and sustainable destination for everyone who visits and enjoys the city throughout the year.
