Benidorm Chess Open 2026
From 25 October to 1 November, Benidorm becomes a meeting point for chess lovers with a new edition of the Benidorm Chess Open, an international tournament bringing together professional and amateur players.
Hotel Meliá Benidorm will host eight days of competition featuring the Open A (Supra 1800) and Open B (Under 2000) tournaments, played over nine rounds using the Swiss system. The programme also includes the Emilio Pellicer Memorial and the Halloween Chess Superblitz, a fast-paced evening competition taking place on 30 October.
The experience is complemented by game analysis sessions, masterclasses led by Grandmasters, a chess and merchandising area and a variety of side activities. These include visits to a local winery and Chocolates Valor, combining a passion for chess with opportunities to discover other attractions on the Costa Blanca.
