Si Nichols

Simon first came to Benidorm in the 2000’s to work as a bartender. He used to casually sing karaoke, because when no one was up for singing, they used to make the staff sing a couple of songs to encourage the customers.

When he did this, many people told him he sounded like George Michael and suggested he start a tribute to his music, but Si wasn’t very keen on the idea because he thought he was too old and had never been interested in becoming a singer. Although some time after this he decided to give it a go and started taking some singing lessons, so in 2009 he started performing a swing show, and then eventually got into tributes.

He's currently doing many different tribute shows, including one to the band The Dualers, which is the only one in Europe and is officially endorsed by the real band. All the tribute acts that Si takes part in are inspired by artists that he genuinely likes listening to, and he always tries to take on tributes that no one else is doing. He couldn’t see himself performing something he doesn’t like or singing songs that other people are already doing, he tries to be as original as possible.

Simon reckons he always takes the preparation and rehearsals of his shows very seriously, but when he’s up on stage he focuses on having fun because both him and the audience enjoy it more. Although he still puts a lot of effort into his performance regarding his singing and dance moves, because the way he sees it, he only works for an hour a day so why not give it your best.
