Benidorm's most iconic long-distance race, the Benidorm Half, has revealed the routes for its two events, the 10K and the 21K. The race, which will take place on 23rd November and celebrates its 40th edition, offers runners the opportunity to once again enjoy the stunning views of the Levante and Poniente beaches and the city’s skyline.
As in previous years, the circuit is certified for both distances and is included in the official calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA). The start line will be located on Avenida de la Comunidad Valenciana (corner of Calle Bélgica), and the finish line will be at Plaza de SS MM Los Reyes de España.
The 10K race will follow the same route as last year, while the 21K features some changes and improvements, such as passing through Avenida del Mediterráneo at the 10.5-kilometre mark instead of the 18th. The starting area is also designed to accommodate approximately 6,500 runners. As in previous editions, the Benidorm Half will welcome both amateur and elite athletes.
In 2023, the event set a record with 4,800 participants, of which 1,600 were from the United Kingdom. The race saw runners from 22 other countries. This year, the organisers aim to surpass the record number of entrants and maintain a balance in the participation rates between male and female runners. More information about the race can be found at their website.
