Following the success of its first edition, the Meliá Villaitana hotel, located on the Costa Blanca, will host the second Green Sunset Villaitana Race at Sunset on 13th September — a sporting and charitable event with all proceeds going to the Alicante Red Cross.
What makes this race unique is that it takes place entirely within the resort, weaving through its stunning golf courses. The starting line will be at the practice range and the finish line will be at the 18th hole, along a route of gentle slopes offering privileged views over the Bay of Benidorm and the hotel’s unique surroundings, designed to resemble a charming Mediterranean village.
The event will welcome both runners and Nordic walkers, and will unfold in an unparalleled natural setting, across a Nicklaus Design golf course with a technical and varied layout that blends seamlessly into the landscape. In addition, those who wish to enhance their experience can stay at Meliá Villaitana itself, enjoying all its services in a setting designed for relaxation and wellbeing.
This race stands out not only for its charitable purpose but also for the extraordinary location where it is held: a one-of-a-kind resort designed as an authentic Mediterranean coastal village, featuring unique corners and breathtaking views of the sea and the golf course. Sand-bottom pools, a spa, sports courts, a gym, a wide gastronomic offering, and a children’s water park make Meliá Villaitana the ideal place to combine sport, solidarity and leisure, creating an experience that goes far beyond a conventional race.
We’ll stay in touch and will provide further updates as soon as registration and other details are available...
