Benidorm's Levante, Poniente, and Mal Pas beaches reaffirm their excellence with the ‘Q’ for Quality, ‘S’ for Tourism Sustainability, and ‘Safe Tourism’ flags, awarded by ICTES after independent audits.
Benidorm continues to lead in beach excellence. The iconic Levante, Poniente, and Mal Pas beaches now display once again the prestigious ‘Q’ for Tourist Quality, ‘S’ for Sustainability, and ‘Safe Tourism’ flags, awarded by the Spanish Institute for Quality Tourism and Sustainability (ICTES). These recognitions guarantee top-quality sands, clean water, and excellent services – all verified through rigorous external audits.
The ‘Q’ flags have flown uninterrupted since 2013, the ‘S’ since 2022, and the ‘Safe Tourism’ designation since 2020. These certifications are based on strict UNE and ISO international standards, ensuring outstanding safety, cleanliness, accessibility, and sustainability.
In addition to the beaches, Benidorm’s Tourist Information Offices are also certified, and many local hotels proudly hold these distinctions, contributing to Benidorm being the world’s first certified Smart Tourist Destination (DTI) since 2018.
