Benidorm invests €168,856 in summer improvements to schools and municipal nursery schools

Benidorm, 25 August 2025. Benidorm City Council carried out a programme of improvement, renewal and maintenance works across the city’s educational centres over the summer, with a total investment of €168,856. The works included repairs to fencing, pillars and playgrounds; roof replacement; flooring renewal; and painting and masonry works, with the aim of readying facilities for the start of the school year (8 September) for pupils in the second cycle of pre-primary, as well as primary and secondary education.

The Mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno, visited several centres to supervise the execution and completion of the scheduled works.

Key actions and budgets
CEIP Els Tolls
• Replacement of the gym roof: €45,304.67.
• Repair of the sports courts’ perimeter fencing: €9,196.

CEIP Gabriel Miró and CEIP Miguel Hernández
• Pillar rehabilitation: €47,311.

CEIP Mestre Gaspar López
• Construction of a concrete slab for children’s play area: €28,609.26.

CEIP Bautista Lledó
• Replacement of flooring in the music room: €8,409.

Municipal Nursery School Fontanelles
• Renewal and installation of vinyl flooring: €2,904.

Various centres (Serra d’Aitana, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, El Murtal, Els Tolls, Gabriel Miró and Mestre Gaspar López; and nursery schools Caletes and Fontanelles)
• Painting, building and repair works: €27,123.36.

In addition, electrical works, maintenance and minor repairs were carried out by Municipal Technical Services staff, with no additional labour costs to the City Council beyond the materials used.
