New Trails in El Moralet: Benidorm Expands Its Nature Routes with 3.5 km in the Xixo Area

Benidorm continues its commitment to sustainable and nature-based tourism with the expansion of walking trails in El Moralet Park. On Monday, September 15, work will begin to open three new routes in the Xixo area, adding 3.5 kilometers to the city’s growing network of green spaces.

The project also includes clearing and maintenance of the area, installation of thermal cameras to improve wildfire detection, and the creation of two new entry points: one next to the Miguel Hernández school and another near the shopping area by Avenida Adolfo Suárez. These entries will feature wooden fencing and informative signage.

The new trails will seamlessly connect with existing routes in El Moralet, allowing easy access from Vía Parque and linking to the main path that reaches Colonia Madrid. This initiative not only improves access to a previously hard-to-reach area but also enhances outdoor leisure options in a natural environment.

Part of the Sustainable Tourism in Destination Plan, this project is funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU funds. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year, further reinforcing Benidorm’s commitment to environmental protection and the promotion of active tourism.
