Urban Murals in Benidorm: Art that Brings Traditions to Life

To mark the 700th anniversary of the Carta de Poblament, urban artist Ángel Toledo has painted two murals on the side walls of the Aitana building, on Capitán Cortés Street. These works depict shelves filled with cultural and traditional elements of Benidorm, such as the Castell column, the tabalet and xirimita, the goddess Tanit, the Hung-Yi swans, and other symbols of local heritage.

The murals also feature objects related to music and the city’s history, including records from local music societies and the edition of the Carta de Poblament. These artistic pieces aim to bring Benidorm’s history and traditions closer to residents and visitors, especially younger audiences, allowing them to enjoy and engage with the city’s cultural heritage in their everyday surroundings.
