First Traffic Light Adapted for Visually Impaired People in Benidorm

Benidorm has taken an important step in accessible mobility during European Mobility Week 2025 with the installation of the first traffic light adapted for visually impaired people on Calle Ruzafa.

The system, certified by ONCE, uses a remote control that emits an audible signal while the green light is on, allowing visually impaired people to cross the street safely. This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to improve accessibility and safety on pedestrian routes, promoting inclusive urban mobility for everyone.
