‘El Gos i la Tortuga’ Literary Prize: Submission Deadline Extended to December 12th!

A short story contest in Valencian with cash prizes and the chance to be published.

Benidorm rekindles a beloved literary tradition with the return of the ‘El Gos i la Tortuga’ Short Story Prize in Valencian. First held in 1982, this contest celebrates creativity, storytelling, and the Valencian language, welcoming participants young and old.

There are two contest categories:

• Youth (ages 14 to 17)

• Adults (18 and over)

Each category will award three prizes:
🥇 €300
🥈 €200
🥉 €100

Additionally, a Special Jury Prize will be awarded to a story that focuses on the history of Benidorm.

Submissions must be original, unpublished works written in Valencian, with a length of 10 to 25 A4 pages. Only one story may be submitted per participant. The full contest rules detail the required format and documents, including parental authorization for minors.

To further reward creativity, the winning stories will be published in a 200-copy special edition. A wonderful chance to see your words in print and share your story with the community.
