Benidorm Adds a New Accessible Bus on Route 26 for European Mobility Week

Benidorm Adds a New Accessible Bus on Route 26 for European Mobility Week

To celebrate European Mobility Week, Benidorm has introduced a new accessible bus on its urban route 26. This wider vehicle features a wheelchair ramp and a reserved space for people with reduced mobility. It connects the Poniente area (including the health center and Avenida Adolfo Suárez) with Avenida del Mediterráneo, where it terminates.

The bus meets Euro VI European emissions standards. Despite being a minibus, its larger and wider design allows it to carry more passengers comfortably.

Additionally, free transfers across Benidorm’s urban transport network will continue until Monday, September 22, encouraging public transport use under this year’s motto: "Mobility for all people."

Highlights of European Mobility Week in Benidorm:

  • Saturday, September 20 (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM): Charity bicycle market at Plaza SS.MM. los Reyes de España. Donate unused bikes to a local NGO.

  • Sunday, September 21 (from 9:00 AM): Charity race En primera línea in support of Aspanion.

  • Monday, September 22: Car-Free Day. Traffic restrictions on Paseo de Poniente and children’s activities on Alcalde José Such Ortega Street (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM).

  • September 16–22: Join the ‘Walk for your city’ challenge via the free Walk15 app to promote walking and healthy lifestyles.
