Benidorm Installs New Clothing and Oil Recycling Containers Throughout the City

Benidorm continues to promote sustainability and responsible waste management with the installation of new containers for used clothing and household oil. This initiative, in collaboration with Consorci Mare, aims to make recycling easier for both residents and tourists, while protecting the city's natural surroundings.

Over the next few weeks, a total of 37 clothing containers and 11 oil containers will be installed across different neighborhoods of Benidorm. As of now, 23 textile units are already in place, with the rest to follow shortly. This pilot project will help plan future improvements to the service.

An awareness campaign will also be launched, with environmental educators providing information on how to correctly use the containers, encouraging responsible use among locals and visitors alike.

This new service is provided at no cost to the city and will help reduce environmental impact. Textile waste currently makes up around 12% of all landfill volume, and used oil, if not properly disposed of, can cause significant damage to sewage systems.

Benidorm is once again strengthening its commitment to environmental responsibility and the circular economy—offering visitors a cleaner, more modern, and sustainable destination.
