Benidorm Begins Work on Recycled Water Network in Poniente

Benidorm Begins Work on Recycled Water Network in Poniente

Sustainable irrigation for parks and gardens in Racharell, Xixo and La Cala starting January

Benidorm will soon begin the installation of a new recycled water network in the Poniente area, a major step towards environmental sustainability. The works, scheduled to start after the Festes Majors Patronals and to be completed by January, will supply regenerated water for the irrigation of green spaces in Racharell, Xixo, and La Cala.

This initiative will support the irrigation needs of an estimated 6,300 homes and over 283,000 square meters of public and private green areas, helping reduce the use of drinking water for non-potable urban needs. The project is part of the 'Benidorm Visión 360' Tourism Sustainability Plan and represents an investment of €384,382.85, with a completion timeline of three months.

Visitors may see some work activity near Poniente Beach, but all necessary safety and environmental protocols will be in place to minimize disruption. Once completed, the network will help maintain the lush gardens and landscapes that add to Benidorm's charm, while promoting a greener future.
