Benidorm is set to host one of its most international sporting events to date. The Benidorm Half 2025, scheduled for 22 November, has already surpassed all previous participation records, bringing together 9,132 runners. For the first time, more than half of the participants—4,616 athletes—will be coming from abroad.
The event also stands out for the large number of British participants, with 4,043 registered, making up 44.4% of the total entries. In total, athletes from 37 countries will take part, confirming the international projection of this coastal race.
The national presence remains strong as well, with 4,516 runners from across Spain. Of these, 1,934 are from the province of Alicante, while the rest come from 46 other provinces.
The race offers two distances—10K and 21K—which this year have attracted a nearly equal number of runners: 50.8% opted for the 10K route and 49.2% for the half marathon. The gender breakdown also shows notable diversity, with 58.7% male participants and 41.3% female.
As a major driver of sports tourism, the Benidorm Half 2025 is expected to draw over 25,000 visitors, including runners and their companions, reaffirming Benidorm’s position as a top destination for international sporting events.
