Benidorm is enhancing its commitment to sustainable mobility by expanding its network of smart bicycle parking stations. Thirteen new units will be installed across the city, bringing the total to 25 and ensuring that every neighborhood has access to secure and convenient bike parking.
These smart parking stations are free to use and feature a mobile app that helps ensure rotation, preventing long-term storage of bicycles or electric scooters. Users receive notifications if a parked vehicle remains for an extended period, promoting fair access to all.
This initiative is part of a broader urban mobility improvement plan, which also includes the creation of a new bike lane on Avenida de l’Aigüera. This lane, set in the uphill direction, will improve connectivity for cyclists in the city center.
Additionally, several streets with deteriorated pavement will be resurfaced, and parking areas will be reorganized to improve traffic flow and accessibility. Regulated parking zones for residents will be maintained, ensuring that local users retain their current benefits.
Benidorm continues to prioritize sustainable transport, making cycling a safe, enjoyable, and practical way to explore the city.
