El Moralet Urban Park has recently added a new access point and a walking trail for those wishing to enter or exit the park from Presidente Adolfo Suárez Street, near the Xixo ravine. This improvement forms part of ongoing work to enhance the park and protect its natural environment.
The new trail is included in a project aimed at improving the safety and sustainability of the park. The initiative is part of the third phase of fire-prevention measures carried out in El Moralet, which began last year with the creation of firebreaks, the installation of thermal cameras for early fire detection, and vegetation maintenance such as pruning and thinning.
The new entrance is located on the northern section of Presidente Adolfo Suárez Street. The area has been levelled and prepared to make access easier, with a new barrier installed and a 200-metre trail created to connect directly with the park’s main path.
This new access point is especially convenient for nearby neighbourhoods, allowing residents and visitors to reach the central trail comfortably and enjoy the park’s walking routes without difficulty.
Additional work has also been completed in the same area to improve safety around the park’s perimeter. These actions help create greater distance between the surrounding residential areas and the park’s woodland, reducing potential fire risk while maintaining the natural landscape.
The entrance also features information panels with maps and nearby trails, helping visitors orient themselves and explore the park with confidence.
El Moralet is one of Benidorm’s largest natural spaces and offers a peaceful setting for walking, hiking and enjoying Mediterranean pine forests just a short distance from the city centre. These improvements reinforce the city’s commitment to protecting its natural environment while making it more accessible for everyone to discover and enjoy.
