Traffic Update in Benidorm: Maravall Street Changes Direction from March 25

Visitors to Benidorm should note an important temporary traffic change affecting access to the city centre and beachfront areas.

Traffic Update in Benidorm: Maravall Street Changes Direction from March 25

🚧 What’s Changing?

From Wednesday, March 25, the lower section of Maravall Street—between San Pedro and Marqués de Comillas—will change to a one-way downhill direction (towards the beach).

This adjustment is part of ongoing works to build a new underground car park on Jaime I Avenue.

🚗 How It Affects Your Route

  • Vehicles coming from Marqués de Comillas:
    • Can turn right towards Tomás Ortuño
    • Or turn left to go down towards the beachfront
  • Vehicles on Paseo de San Pedro:
    • Can no longer turn onto Maravall Street
    • Must continue straight towards Jaime I Avenue or Armada Española Avenue

⏳ Duration

This change will remain in place until the completion of the construction works.

🅿️ Why This Change?

The update is linked to the construction of a new underground car park on Jaime I Avenue, which:

  • Will have two levels
  • Provide space for 406 vehicles

During the works, part of Jaime I Avenue is closed to traffic, requiring a reorganisation of nearby streets.

✨ Travel Tip

If you’re heading to the Old Town or Poniente Beach, allow extra time and follow updated signage to avoid delays.
