Benidorm continues enhancing one of the most recognizable elements of the Paseo Marítimo de Levante: the ‘Andrea’ columns. The rehabilitation and restoration works, which began in December, are progressing in phases and will allow these iconic structures—closely linked to the image of the seafront promenade—to be fully restored.
The project includes the restoration of the 18 columns that will remain along the promenade, combining structural recovery with the addition of new architectural lighting. The goal is to strengthen the visual appeal of this highly frequented area for both visitors and residents, while also improving the energy efficiency of the installation.
The process is being carried out in a planned manner to ensure high-quality results and minimize disruption in one of the most visited areas of the city. The columns are dismantled in sections, inspected and repaired, treated with specific solutions for marine environments, and once restored, gradually reinstalled in their original location.
The intervention also includes a dynamic color-changing lighting system, designed to create different atmospheres and visual scenes throughout the year. This upgrade will give the promenade a more contemporary and versatile look, capable of complementing celebrations, special dates, and different moments in Benidorm’s tourism life.
