Benidorm has unveiled the project for the Séquia Mare Interpretation Centre, a new educational and cultural facility that will open this year and offer visitors a unique insight into the history and evolution of water in the city.
Presented during the Water Week celebrations, and coinciding with the 360th anniversary of the historic “Riego Mayor”, the centre will be located in a regenerated area that has been transformed into a public park, now ready to welcome both residents and tourists.
This new space is designed as an interactive and accessible experience for all audiences, where visitors can explore how water management has been essential to Benidorm’s development—from its early agricultural origins to becoming a global tourism destination and a benchmark in sustainability.
