Benidorm consolidates itself as an example of digitalisation applied to tourism at the Mobile World Congress

The mayor presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona how Benidorm has transformed into a leader in tourist digitalisation, being the world's first certified Smart Tourist Destination.

The city has adopted a strategy that aligns with global sustainable development goals, focusing on improving destination management, sustainability, smart beaches, and overall satisfaction. This approach is materialised in a project co-funded by European funds, also highlighting the importance of smart and sustainable management, with projects ranging from sensorisation for resource management to public-private collaboration to boost tourism.

Additionally, future challenges in tourist digitalisation were discussed, such as data privacy and cybersecurity.
