The cultural week of workers holidays begins today with a roundtable on board the train to Benidorm.

The town hall has presented 150,000 euros to the organising committee of fiestas and 35,000 euros to the Association of clubs for the celebration of the festivities.

There is just one week remaining before the commencement of the Workers Fiestas which will take place between the 7th and 12th November and the organisers are beginning to complete their last minute preperations and they are creating an atmosphere of expectation before  the traditional Week of Culture which acts as a preamble to the festivities.

Sunday 2nd November:

At 10am a route has been  organised through the old town during which stories and anecdotes about the town and it's fiestas will be told. At 8.15pm  there will be a concert in the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana  which will be presented by the La Rondalla ACR ' La Barqueta'  together with  the orchestra of the Pois and Plectre of the Atenueu Musical of Villajoisa.

On Monday 3rd November the Week of Culture will continue at 8.30pm with a theatre performancegiven by the Theatre Group Jose soler and it  will take place in the Assembly Hall in the Benidorm town hall building.

On  Tuesday 4th of November at 12 noon the artists from the Association of housewives will present an exhibition in the Espai d'Art and later at 8.30pm the Coral theatre group will be in the assembly room of the town hall and will present 'si lo sé no bingo'.

On Wednesday, day 5, the society ´la nova of benidorm¨will present ´Benidorm the musical´ starting at 9pm also in the assembly hall.

Finally the week of culture will come to a conclusion on Thursday 6th with a talk about La Mare de Deu del Sofratge which will  be given by Vicente Perez Bayona which will take place from 8pm in the Assembly hall.

An agreement for the subsidy of the festivities.

The two main organising entities of Benidorm, the Comission of Fiestas and the Association of Penas ( clubs) subscribed yesterday to an agreement of mutual assistance with the Town Hall whereby they will receive a share of 185,000 euros subsidy for the financing of  various acts. There will be 150,000 euros for the Comission of Fiestas mayores patronales and a further 35,000 euros for the Associatio de penyes Veerge del Sofratge.B
