Benidorm welcomes Christmas with a bang and the grand opening from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Benidorm will inaugurate the Plaza de la Navidad ( Christmas square) on Saturday 13th December at 18-00 with the traditional Christmas street cry which this year will be provided by the Drilo group who will offer the young children amongst the public a joyous singsong which will herald Christmas with original music and fun to delight all the young children.

This inauguration ceremony will also include the artistic lighting of the Plaza de la Navidad ( Christmas Square)  which aims to be the ´heart of Christmas in the the city so that all the boys and girls of Benidorm enjoy the endearing spirit and magic of these parties across this wonderful space´  As well as this there will be stalls for balloons and other wonderful Christmas activities and various childrens characters will also appear at this highly anticipated event to take photos wih the children.

La Plaza de la Navidad with have, like every year, a childrens playground with rides and an ice rink which is one of it´s most important attractions. A Christmas market with special seasonal gifts will add to the magic of this place.

Besides celebrating  the beginning of the school holidays, the Plaza de la Navidad will host every day from morning until evening, activities for the youngest children like inflatables, Christmas workshops, puppets and magic acts.

On New Years Eve the Square will also be the meeting point for all of those who wish to share in a cocktail party which will begin at 11pm and will see in the new year with chimes and with music and dancing provided by an orchestra.

The Commission of Festivals 2014 will run a bar situated in the Christmas area, the proceeds from which will fund future events.

On Sunday 5th January at 6.30pm we will celebrate the great procession of the Magic Kings which will make it´s way through the streets of the centre of the city until it arrives at the Christmas Square ( Plaza de SS. MM Los Reyes de España.......The Kings of Spain)- At the end of the procession the children of the city will have the honour of being able to greet the Magic Kings of the Orient.
