Benidorm Gastronomic 2024 Celebrates its 14th Tapas and Pinchos Competition

The vibrant city of Benidorm is preparing to host one of the most anticipated culinary events of the year: the 14th Tapas and Pinchos Competition. From 14th to 23rd June 2024, locals and visitors will be able to enjoy a delicious selection of tapas and pinchos prepared by some of the best establishments in the region.

The event, which is part of Benidorm Gastronomic 2024, promises to be an unforgettable experience for food lovers. With the participation of 17 establishments, each will offer its own interpretation of tapas and pinchos, showcasing creativity and the quality of local ingredients.

Among the participants are well-known venues such as Aurrera, Maüi Beach Gastrolounge, Brasería Aurrera, Cervecería L'Abadía, Chiringuito Beach, DNI Ibéricos, El Linaje de Castilla, La Tapería (Aurrera), Marisquería El Puerto, and Pinocchio Playa. Each has prepared unique dishes that are sure to delight the most discerning palates.

Some of the featured dishes include:

• Poor man's potatoes with chistorra emulsion and quail egg topped with chistorra and padrón pepper from Cervecería L'Abadía.
• Truffled potato salad with smoked pancetta from Chiringuito Beach.
• The secret is in the dough from Pinocchio Playa, a gourmet pizza slice with parmesan cream and Duroc pork ribs.
• Savour your secret from Taberna Andaluza, slow-cooked Iberian pork in its juice with vegetables and PX-reduced yoghurt sauce.
• Zarpato from Zarzosa, a slowly cooked duck blanquette with orange sauce, cranberries, and grapes.

In addition to enjoying the delicious creations, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the voting to choose the best tapa or pincho of the competition. To vote, they simply need to scan a QR code provided by the waiter when placing their order, rate the tapa with stars, and upload a photo of the purchase receipt. Voters will be entered into a draw to win a free dinner for two at one of the participating establishments.
