Microteatro Third Edition

On 13th and 14th September, Benidorm will host the third edition of ‘Microteatro’, a theatrical event that has captivated audiences in previous years due to its intimate and close-knit format. This year, the performances will be held at the Casa Museo l’Hort de Colón, a venue that has recently been renovated, allowing for the return of this anticipated series of short plays.

The event, organised by Mascarat Producciones under the direction of Manuel Troncoso, will feature a total of six plays with a predominant focus on comedy and musical genres. Each piece has an approximate duration of fifteen minutes and will be performed in a room with a limited audience of twelve to fifteen people, ensuring a unique and personalised theatrical experience.

Tickets for these performances are available online for €4.5, via the website. Additionally, those who wish to enjoy all the plays in one evening can purchase a special pass for €22, available in a limited edition of 40 units.

The highlighted plays include ‘Astroterapia’, ‘(S)examigos’, ‘(SES) Servicio Estatal de Suicidios’, ‘Y fueron infelices’, ‘Hostias por doquier’ and ‘La rebelión de los pagafantas’. The performances will start at 19:00, with 25 to 30 minutes intervals between each one.

On 20th September at 8:30 p.m., ‘Lo mejor de Yllana’ will come to Benidorm, a show in which the company reflects on its 25 years on stage with a selection of their best sketches; on 19th October at 7:00 p.m., it will be the turn of ‘La Dieta’, a production by Teatro de la Sombra performed by Rafael Calvo. Numbered tickets for both performances are now on sale on the website. Tickets for ‘Lo mejor de Yllana’ are available for €15, and for ‘La Dieta’ at €5.

Director Manuel Troncoso has emphasised the comic focus of the plays, particularly highlighting ‘Servicio Estatal de Suicidios’, a comedy that, despite its title, offers moments of great humour. This play will be performed by Toni Moya and Olga Reinoso, members of the Benidorm municipal theatre workshop.

This cultural event promises to be an enriching and entertaining experience for theatre lovers, establishing Benidorm as a reference point in the cultural offerings of the region. Tickets will be available until the day of the event, at which point the price will rise to €5, and they will only be available at the box office.
