Step into history and nature with a visit to La Torre de les Caletes, also known as Torre Punta del Cavall. This 16th-century watchtower stands proudly on Punta del Cavall, within the breathtaking Sierra Helada Natural Park🏰🌊
Built by order of King Philip II, La Torre de les Caletes was part of a coastal defense system, designed to protect the region from Berber pirate attacks that threatened the Mediterranean. From its strategic position, watchmen could spot enemy ships and warn the population using smoke signals by day and fire signals at night.
Although time has left its mark, the tower has been restored, preserving its historical value and allowing visitors to travel back in time as they admire its imposing silhouette.
