The safety of Benidorm beach users as a priority.

Benidorm ensures coastal surveillance, police presence on beaches and promenades, lifeguards 365 days a year, and emergency response protocols to guarantee the safety of all beachgoers.

At Benidorm’s beaches, we value not only fun and leisure, but also the safety and well-being of our visitors, which is our top priority. For this reason, we have implemented a series of precautionary and safety measures that everyone should be aware of:

Beach Safety Tips

🏖 Before diving into the crystal-clear waters, pay attention to beach signage.

🚩 Flags are your guide:
🔴 Red: Swimming prohibited.
🟡 Yellow: Caution advised.
🟢 Green: Optimal swimming conditions.

For your safety, always respect these signals.

🌊 If you want to swim, do so parallel to the shore to avoid drifting too far out.

🛟 Be cautious with inflatables and air mattresses, as they can carry you further out to sea without you realising.

🚤 Respect the designated buoyed areas for other activities, such as jet skis and small boats.

🤿 Before jumping into the water, check the depth and ensure there are no rocks in the area.
If you plan to explore rocky areas, wear appropriate footwear and be careful of sea urchins.

Sun Protection: Enjoy the Sun Safely

☀️ Benidorm’s beaches are perfect for sunbathing, but it’s important to protect yourself.

🧴 Use sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher and reapply every two hours, even on cloudy days.

🧢 Wear a hat and sunglasses with UVA and UVB protection, especially between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., when the sun’s radiation is strongest.

What to Do in Case of Emergency?

📞 In an emergency, call 1-1-2.

🌊 If you see someone struggling in the water, do not attempt a rescue unless you are trained.
It is best to alert lifeguards and let professionals handle the situation.

📌 Remember: Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s enjoy the beach responsibly!
