The safety of Benidorm beach users as a priority.

Benidorm has coastal surveillance, police on the beaches and promenades, lifeguards on duty 365 days a year and protocols for dealing with incidents and emergencies.

On Benidorm's beaches, we do not only value fun and leisure, but the safety and well-being of our visitors is our first priority. To this end, we have implemented a series of precautionary and safety measures that everyone should be aware of:

  • Before diving into the crystal clear waters, it is important to pay attention to the beach signs.
  • The flags are your guide: red means no bathing, yellow means caution and green means optimal bathing conditions. For your safety, you should always respect these rules.
  • If you feel like swimming, we recommend that you swim parallel to the shore to avoid going too far out to sea.
  • Be careful with floats and mattresses as they can pull you out to sea without you noticing.
  • Also remember to respect areas marked with buoys for other activities, such as jet skis and small boats.
  • Before jumping into the water, make sure you know the depth and that there are no rocks in the area. And if you plan to explore the rocky areas, wear appropriate footwear and watch out for sea urchins.

Our Benidorm beaches are a place to enjoy the sun, but it's also important to protect yourself from it.

  • Use sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher every two hours, even on cloudy days.
  • Hats and sunglasses with UVA and UVB protection are also recommended, especially between noon and 4pm when the sun is at its strongest.
  • In an emergency, call 1-1-2. If you see someone in distress at sea, do not try to rescue them if you are not an expert; it is better to leave it in the hands of the professionals.
