The highest hotel in Europe, the Gran Hotel Bali in Benidorm, will once again host a unique sporting event. The Vertical Climb to the Gran Hotel Bali in Benidorm will return on Saturday 27 April 2024. With its 52 floors, 924 steps and 190 metres of vertical drop, it is the ideal location for this sporting event.
This is the 18th edition of the vertical climb and for the seventh year the competition will be part of the Towerrunning World Association World Circuit. After the success of the last editions, it is expected to reach the maximum number of registered participants, set by the organisation at 500 athletes, who will take part in the three possible categories: 'elite', 'open' and 'equipped firefighters'. As usual, athletes from countries all over the world will take part in the Towerruning World Circuit.
In addition to the traditional gifts from sponsors and collaborators, more than 3,000 euros in cash prizes and a bonus in case the race records are beaten have been established. The records to beat are in the men's category set by Christian Riedl, who stopped the clock in 4'20''', and in the women's category by Suzy Walsham, who ran in 5'31''.
